July 22, 1942, dr. Janusz Korczak’s birthday,
marked the start of the Großaktion Warschau
an annihilation of the Warsaw ghetto.

Korczak wrote on that day:
"Everything else has its limits, only brazen shamelessness is limitless.
The authorities have ordered the hospital in Stawki Street to be cleared. And the head doctor, a woman, was told to admit all the bad cases to Zelazna Street.
What do we do? Prompt decision, efficient action..."

Janusz Korczak knew, it was the "Beginning of the End".
